Paradise Is Free
Words and Music by Ed Johnson
I like to go to Honolulu for the bright sunshine
Maui for the mellow vibe
I’ve been to Saint Martin in the V-Islands
With its crazy French/Dutch divide
Kona has the lava flow; Saint Thomas has all the shops
Snorkel gear is always here, the fishing never stops
But when I think of all these places, and I’ve got no cash to burn
I look out to my own backyard;
We’ve got lakes everywhere you turn
And when summer hits, grab a tow rope, strap on those water skis
Coconut lotion and lake water and you’d think paradise is free
Exotic lands call to me, I’m lured by the deep, blue sea
Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, have pulled me out of my shell
Always wanted to see, the Mediterranean
But I got sunburned in the South of France,
With a wine bottle in my hand
Cabo is a party town with tequila all around
But the beaches provide such sweet relief
From the headache you had drunk down
Barbados has he sugar cane to brew that magic rum
But for stingrays and Mayan waterslides
Got to head for Bahamian sun
